Afternoon tea at Sketch London for our 5th anniversary!

Sketch is one of those places I've always dreamed of going to... Anyway, it was mine and Joe's fifth anniversary, and we wanted to go somewhere extra special, so I hinted afternoon tea at Sketch, Mayfair. I'd been hinting to go there for about a year... not even joking!

From the skip hop and jump entrance to the space-egged toilets, everything about this place is cool. Really cool.

Me and Joe indulged in our afternoon tea in the Gallery. And, I have to say the food was outstanding! Every little treat was delicious, especially the warm scones and the pistachio puff ball things. Also, you could chose a variety of tea's or champagne with an additional cost. I went for the whole Rose Buds tea which was lovely.

The interior is also beautiful with pink velvet cushioned seats, copper details and David Shrigley's art across all four walls, you feel a bit like you're in a fancy sweet store.
The gallery also leads on to these crazy toilets, which looked like a cross between something from space and a boiled egg. Me and Joe had too much fun in here!

We both really enjoyed every bit of it, it is definitely one of the best afternoon tea's I've ever had. It's honestly such a bizarre, quirky little place and I highly recommend eating there if you're in the London area.

After Sketch, we did a little bit of shopping whilst we were super close to Oxford Circus, and then we headed to some quirky cocktail bars.

The first one we went to was 'The Cocktail Trading Club' which is a little bar hidden away in a basement. They had really amazing interesting cocktails - one of them came in a snow globe and had coconut sprinkles that had the illusion of being snow!

The other bar we went to was called 'The Blind Pig', this has to be my new favourite bar in London. The bar snacks are incredible and the drinks are so unusual! The first cocktail I had was a percy pig infused vodka with a little David Cameron reference. I took a photo of it on my Instagram so head over to there if you're interested.
Joe's cocktail was called the 'Slap and Pickle' which had baby pickles on the side, cute. And, the other cocktail I had was a whiskey mix with popcorn on the side. Absolutely loved it here and would love to go back again sometime soon.

Overall, we had an amazing day out celebrating five years together, Sketch was all I could of dreamt of and more (cheese) and the cocktail bars are new favourites of mine!

If you're interested in coming along with us on our anniversary, watch my little vlog below. Enjoy :)!

Autumnal MAC Lipsticks | Plumful and Captive Review

I slipped and fell into MAC again (*hides*)... I was at the airport in the duty free section and decided to treat myself to two more lipsticks from my never ending MAC wish-list. And, because it's Autumn, I wanted some more berry colours in my collection.

 (Plumful Lipstick Swatch)

Plumful. Finally, I got my hands on Plumful! I've been wanting this shade since forever and I absolutely love it. It's the perfect autumnal every-day shade that you can wear to work, out for dinner or even wear it to the gym... Wherever you like!

On the website, Plumful is described as a 'blossoming rose-plum', and is a Lustree finish which means it's quite sheer on the lips, however is build-able for a more intensified colour.
The longevity of this lipstick is about three hours before you need to re-apply again. Which I expect with all Lustree finishes as they are super moisturising and have a tendency to fade quicker than matte's or satin finishes.

  (Captive Lipstick Swatch)

Captive. I've not heard many bloggers talk about Captive but I swatched it in the airport and fell in love.

Captive is a satin finish and is described as a 'pinkish-plum' on the website. It's stunning and I wore it every single day on my holiday! It's not too vampy or bright, it's the most beautiful autumnal lip colour that isn't too in your face.

The lipstick formula is super creamy and glides onto the lips beautifully. The consistency does have the texture of a matte formula but it doesn't feel as drying on the lips. And, the longevity is amazing!! It lasts for about six hours before I needed to re-apply.

What lipsticks have you been loving this autumn? Also, are there any other MAC lipsticks you would like me to review in the near future? Let me know in the comments below!

Byron Burgers & Balloons

It's burger time!

Byron Hamburgers  has to be one of my favourite burger joint's in London! I recently popped into the Covent Garden branch for a tasty burger (of course), some onion rings and a shake. And let me tell you, it was soooo good. I had the 'Byron' burger, which I ordered well done, controversial I know... But, it was delicious, all the bacon and cheese, come to mama. The onion rings were also banging!

Whilst I was in Covent Garden, they had a HUGE balloon installation in the main square, which was part of Design Festival Week 2015. The artist, Charles Petillon created 'Heartbeat', which was formed of 100,000 white balloons! Selected balloons lit up in the rhythm of a pulse which I thought was pretty cool.

It was really beautiful to see in person, and also, it actually reminded me a little of Martin Creed's work where he filled an entire room with white balloons.

Vlogtober Week Two | Foo Fighters Gig

As some of you may know, I've decided to do Vlogtober this year! I really do enjoy vlogging and capturing all the good times I've had with Joe, my friends and family, and, I hope you guys enjoy watching them too.

Vlogtober Week Two. In this vlog, me and Joe went to see the Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes Bowl with a bunch of friends from my hometown. I had such a good time and thought they played an awesome set. A highlight for me was when they got the entire crowd to light up their phones and sing along to Big Me, it was magical.

Also, If you missed last week's vlog and are interested in seeing what I got up to, click here. And, check back next week for week three.

New Lippies! MAC's Brave and Bare Again | Review

Not that I need any more MAC lipsticks... but, I feel like I don't have many nudes and neutral every-day kind of shades in my collection. It's all deep plums and reds and no 'your lips but better' colours.

I always find nude lipsticks a little daunting if I'm honest, I can rock any bright colour no problem but nudes have a tendency to wash me out and I end up looking like a corpse. But, it's safe to say that these two shades do not make me look dead!

I'm super happy that I brought these two, they are the perfect nudes and I highly recommended them for all the pale ginger haired girls out there.

Anyway, I did do a bit of research before buying these online, I was after the perfect everyday colour for pale skin and faux ginger hair, and MAC's Brave and Bare Again kept cropping up. So, I splurged and now here I am with a review.

 (MAC's Bare Again Swatch)

Bare Again. I'll begin with Bare Again which is my first ever sheen supreme lipstick from MAC! Bare Again is a gorgeous pinky neutral beige colour which I personally think would suit all skin tones, especially fair and medium.

These formula's are unlike the traditional MAC lipstick's, they are super creamy and moisturising on the lips, almost like a hybrid between a creamy lipstick and a lipgloss. They are a pleasure to put on as they glide on beautifully. As it is a creamy formula the staying power isn't out of this world, but I'd say Bare Again lasts around 2 hours before I need to re-apply.

Also, the pigmentation is quite sheer, however it is build-able so you can go from making this look semi sheer to completely opaque.

(MAC's Brave Swatch)

Brave. Up next we have Brave which is listed as a 'pink-beige with white pearl' on their website, and is a satin formula. I would actually describe Brave to be a medium-dark pink with a tinge of brown, which makes it fab for an every-day muted shade.

This formula can be a little drying as it is semi-matte, and can cling to dry patches on the lips, so I would recommend using a lip scrub or lip balm beforehand. Having said that, what I'm most impressed with is the lasting power of this lipstick, it's bloody great! I'd say it lasts for around 4 hours if I don't drink/eat anything, sometimes will last even longer!

Overall I'm super chuffed with my new neutral, every day, 'my lips but better' shades. However, I do want to expand my collection and  get some more neutral pinky tones. If you could recommend any, leave them in the comments below as I would love to know.

Vlogtober Week One | Carsten Holler Exhibition & The Ivy Chelsea Garden

This year I've decided to do Vlogtober as I have some really exciting things going on in October so I wanted to take you guys along with me! I won't be vlogging everyday, however, I will be vlogging once a week.

Vlogtober Week one. I went to the Carsten Holler, Decision exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, near to the SouthBank Centre. Really interesting quirky little exhibit with lots of fun activities to do, including seeing the world upside down, swallowing pills and sliding down a giant slide to exit the exhibition.

Afterwards, I did a little shopping in Anthropologie... Whoops! And then I went to The Ivy Chelsea Garden that EVERYONE has been raving about! The chocolate bombe is delicious by the way.

Check out my little video diary below of the day in action and stay tuned for next week's vlog which will go live next Monday.
