HUGE Charlotte Tilbury Haul | Red Carpet Red, Eye Shadow Palettes & More!

Charlotte Tilbury is one of those make-up brands where I think, wow what more can you do?! And I mean that in a good way.

She's done everything from gorgeous vintage packaging, virtual reality advertising, not to mention her products are incredible and I want them all! There's just something special about each individual product and everything lures you in.

As some of you may know, I'm a HUGE fan of her lipstick 'Bitch Perfect'. And I was keen to try and test more. I went to my local Charlotte Tilbury counter and picked up a few treats, I got two eye shadow palettes, a red lipstick and two Colour Chameleon eye shadow pencils.

I'll start with the lipstick. I picked up my fourth CT lipstick, Red Carpet Red which is part of the Matte Revolution collection. This lippy is a gorgeous deep red which actually reminds me of the 1950's film star shade, something Marilyn Monroe would wear.

The formula is incredibly smooth and lovely to apply. And, for a matte, it's not drying at all.
The longevity isn't outstanding or anything, but it does last up to five hours before I need to touch up.

Moving on to the palettes'... I picked up 'The Golden Goddess' luxury palette and 'The Dolce Vita' luxury palette. They both retail at £38. The idea behind these quads is to suit certain eye colours. And to "Prime, enhance, smoke and pop." the eye with three powdered eyeshadows and a pressed-glitter.

The Golden Goddess palette looks beautiful. This palette is actually meant for blue eyes, but despite that I think it looks lovely with brown eyes and/or ginger hair.

I love the look of every single shade but I have to admit, it's not the best formulation. I find that these don't last as well as say... my Naked 2 palette. And as much as I want to love the glittery 'Pop' shade, it just wasn't strong enough, and I also found that I got a lot of fall-out through-out the day.

Likewise to the above palette, the formulation was the same with the 'Dolce Vita' palette. Again the shades are absolutely beautiful, and as much as I want to love it, the formulation is pants. So, I'm sad to report that I'm a little disappointed with these.

On the other hand, I picked up two Colour Chameleon's and I LOVE them! I got 'Dark Pearl' for brown eyes, day time and 'Amber Haze' for brown eyes, night. If you have never heard of these before, they are super easy to apply cream eye-shadow sticks.

Apparently these are infused with 'Synthetic Sapphire', "a mineral gemstone with natural soft-focus powers, for a smooth perfect finish." Sounds fancy.

Dark Pearl is a lovely taupe-coppery brown with hints of purple. It is said to be suitable for brown eyes during the day... but, I would wear this for night-time too.
This shade is really creamy, highly pigmented, long-lasting and easy to use. Ticks all the right boxes!

Amber Haze is an antique-coloured shade. It looks quite rustic. And, likewise to Dark Pearl, Amber Haze is incredibly pigmented, lasts for 10+ hours and is super easy to apply. You can either wear this alone or blend with other shades. Looks beautiful on brown eyes!

And last but not least, I picked up an eye pencil sharper! I have to admit, I bought it because of the packaging!!

So that's all folks. I hope you found this somewhat helpful or interesting to read! Have a fabulous week.

Love, Zoey

Urban Decay Naked 2 EyeShadow Palette Review | Worth the Hype?

I must admit I'm a bit late on the 'Naked' palette craze. But, better late than never right?

Ok, so the real reason why I caved and bought this is because 1) I'm doing my make-up for my wedding and I'm trialling lots of brands, and 2) I've heard every Tom, Dick and Harry rave about how amazing the Naked palettes are. So I thought, now is the time to get one.

It was quite hard to pick between the three palettes, but I decided on 2 as ALL of the shades are my cup of tea. There's a mix of coppery, brown metallics and a few matte shades! Perfection.

Ok so, let's review the Naked 2 palette (£38.50)...

Packaging: The eyeshadows fit in a lovely rectangle metal casing. And, the lid has lightly embossed letters which I think is really sleek. Inside the case is a mirror and a dual ended brush which is also super handy!

Shades/Formula: In total there are 12 shades, from luminous shimmers to super creamy mattes. The shades are taupe-hued neutrals which are perfect for us cool-toned ladies.
The formula of these are so incredibly pigmented, so buttery and so smooth. They are a dream to apply and blend!

Favourite Shades: If I had to pick... my favourites would have to be 'Chopper', 'Suspect' and 'YDK'. 'Chopper' is a gorgeous copper shimmery shade with peckles of sliver glitter. 'Suspect' is a pale golden beige shimmer and 'YDK' is a cool bronze shimmery shade. Simply stunning shades.
I also quite like 'Half Baked' but I don't think it suits me as much as the others.

Overall: The palette is 100% worth the hype. I love all the shades and they are incredibly long-lasting! If I apply these in the morning... say around 7am, they would still look just as great by 9pm. A big thumbs up from me. 10/10.

(I don't think my photo of the swatches are doing these shades much justice!)

Bridal Makeup for Pale Skin & Brown Eyes

I apologise if my blog has been a little 'wedding heavy' lately and I'm really sorry if it's not your thing, but it's all I can think about at the moment!! I promise I will get back on the fashion hauls, lookbooks and travel vlogs in due course. Or if you are enjoying them, please do let me know :).

In my last blog post, I spoke about my bridal make-up must-haves and the look I want to go for. I want something fairly natural with a winged eye and a nudey-pinky lip during the day, and I'll potentially wear a red lip in the evening.

I have created a little trial of what my bridal day make-up may look like. Also this may help any other future brides out there who have pale skin, brown eyes or ginger locks.

I've listed all the products I've used in the Youtube description bar, so do take a peek if you're interested. Any who, on a totally unrelated note, I'm going to watch the Olympics for the rest of the evening, Murray's playing and I'm a big fan... Can he get another gold?! We shall find out in an hour or two.

Wedding Planning #2 - Bridal Hair and Make-up Ideas

As we edge closer and closer towards our wedding date, I thought I'd better crack on with my wedding make-up must-haves and ideas. I've accumulated quite a bit of a collection already (in fact, far too much!!), but I haven't officially decided what my bridal make-up will look like.
In mind I want something very natural with a winged eye and nude lip. And for the evening, I'll potentially wear a red.

Also, I thought I should mention that I will be doing my own make-up on the day, daunting task I know... but I'm incredibly fussy and I know what I like best!

For my base, I'm most likely going to use my jane iredale Smooth Affair Primer, my trusty beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, with my Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder, then my HourGlass Powder to make sure everything stays in place. For blush, I'm a little undecided whether to wear my HourGlass Dim Infusion Blush or my NARS Orgasm Blush. But I also really want to trial HourGlass' Etheral Glow blusher as well.
For the ultimate highlight, I really want to purchase Becca's Jacqlin Hill Champagne Pop Highlighter as everybody has nothing but great things to say about it. And then I'll set it all in place with my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

For eyes, I'm most likely to have a gold shimmery eye. I really like the By Terry Ombre BlackStar Eye Pencils, they look beautiful. But I also have the Naked 2 palette, Charlotte Tilbury palettes and my favourite NARS Laser Cut Eye, Cheek and Lip palette... choices, choices.
I will also be wearing a winged eye of course. I've never actually invested in a high-end liquid eyeliner would you believe - so I've got my heart set on the Guerlain Liquid Eyeliner. If that isn't any good, I really want to get my hands on Stilla's Liquid Eyeliner again.

I'm also trailing out waterline pencils - I have the world's most watery eyes and even the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencils don't stay put!
I've heard good things about Charlotte Tilbury's rock and kohl eye pencils so maybe I will give those a go. And, for mascara, I really like Lacome's HYPNOSE mascara at the minute. It stays put all day!

Last but not least, the lips! This is going to be SUCH a hard decision for me. I have too many favourites. I love Charlotte Tilbury's Bitch Perfect, also MAC's Brave, Fanfare, Cosmo, Bare Again and Peach Blossom for the pinky-nudes. For the red evening lip, I'm either going to wear Charlotte Tilbury's Red Carpet Red or Ruby Woo!

For my hair, I'm 90% sure I will have my down. I'm thinking soft retro waves. In case I do change my mind and want an up-do style, the above is most likely what I'd go for. A relaxed soft waved style.

The hair stylist that I chose is incredible, she's done lots of bridal editorial shoots, so I'm really excited to have my trial with her in September!

Oh... and here's a few images of me being a bridesmaid at one of my best friend's weddings last year.

In case you're interested, I wore Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, NARS' Luster blusher, The Balm Mary Lou highlighter, MAC's Brave lipstick, the eyeshadow and lipgloss from the NARS' Laser Cut Eye, Cheek and Lip palette and set then in place with MAC's Fix+ spray. I also had eye-lash extensions in :).

Right, think it's time for me to get off the interwebs and hit the hay. Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!
